This is a foundation course for students to develop skills in seeing and interpreting shape and form. Students will learn through practice, repetition of basic principles, experimentation, demonstration, keeping a sketchbook, and interaction with studio peers. A strong emphasis is placed on learning a visual language as it relates to line, composition, value, and basic perspective. Students will gradually advance to be prepared for continuing drawing as a medium in itself and develop drawing skills that will help make strong paintings a possibility in future classes. Min of 5 students.
