Use this design to print on paper, canvas, and fabric. Supplies included. Students will explore how to draw lines, shade, and add texture using various nibs (tips) and techniques. Bring a photograph or picture to class to use as a reference to complete a final project you will be proud to frame. Supplies included. Landscapes Mondays or Wednesdays 4pm-6pm Nov 1 – 15 Or Nov 3 - 17 $63.75 for 3 weeks Ages 7-13 Students will learn how to draw scenes and images. Emphasis: The creation of 3-dimensional depth taught by overlapping, and the concept of diminishing. CLAY SCULPTURE Mondays or Wednesdays 4pm-6pm Dec 6 – 20 Or Dec 1- 15 $63.75 for 3 weeks Ages 7-13 Hands on studio workshop where the student is guided through a step-by-step process from inception to the finished piece. Students learn to sculpt and paint animals, a bas relief landscape, and a 3-dimensional building. The student will derive great satisfaction watching the materials be transformed while learning basic sculpting methods. Multiple materials and techniques are introduced to inspire interest and creativity. Large Scale Mixed Media Mondays or Wednesdays 4pm-6pm March 7 - 28 Or March 2 - 23 $85 for 4 weeks Ages 7-13 Get ready to work large! Work with artist Rebecca McCartt to create poster-sized drawings by combining on-site sketches with other art media. Investigate dynamic contemporary works and to be inspired by centuries of visual movements, techniques, and ideas. Nature is in the eye of the beholder April 4 – 8 9am – Noon $90.00 Ages 7-13 It's fun to look closely at tiny things and draw them really big, like the style that made Georgia O'Keeffe famous. Pick a small flower in your backyard or find a piece of driftwood or a dry tree branch. Then look at your object carefully and draw what you see. Draw it so big that you fill your drawing paper, all the way to the edges. Then paint or color your picture, but color the background first, like O'Keeffe painted the sky all around the bone. Making Magic with Pastels Mondays or Wednesdays 4pm-6pm April 11- 25 Or April 13 - 27 $63.75 for 3 weeks Ages 7-13 Soft pastels are like the "dust on butterfly wings" because of the way their brilliant hues catch the light. Kids will use fine art soft pastels to create landscape, still life and wildlife paintings while learning about the elements of composition, line, texture, shape and color, light and shadow. Freedom and lively creativity is encouraged while honing pastel painting techniques Batik Mondays or Wednesdays 4pm-6pm May 2 - 23 Or May 4 - 25 $85.00 for 4 weeks Ages 7-13 Come have fun and be creative with the ancient art of batik. Create designs on cloth using wax resist dying techniques. Dipping in colorful dyes will make your designs pop. Finished batiks may be framed for wall art or sewn for pillow covers and other decorative items. You will be given a supply list. These will be items you have at home |
