Project Linus

Start:  The 3rd Wednesday of Every Month- 10am –noon

As Charles Schulz’s Linus character from the PEANUTS® comic strip was comforted by his blanket, Project Linus strives to do the same and more for children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. The blankets our nearly 400 chapter coordinators collect from thousands of “blanketeers” (volunteers) across the United States and then distributed to these children provide love, a sense of security, warmth, and comfort.
Join us today to help these children.
To participate in blanket-making, bring a sewing machine, your rotary cutter & ruler, needle & thread for sewing on labels, chenille needles to use in tying quilts, or any other supplies or talents that you think might be useful.

We make blankets, attach labels, sort donations, plan quilts, finish quilts, adopt take-home projects, and more!

Purse Party!

The 2nd Friday of every month, from 5:30 pm – 10:30 pm, we’re having a Purse Party. We will choose a different purse or bag pattern for each month, and we’ll host a “girls night out” at Wild Child Arts and Quilt Shop. Watch our Facebook page for updates on the pattern each month, and pics from the most recent Purse Party!
Purchase the pattern and supplies (or bring stash fabric), bring your sewing machine and basic sewing supplies, and have fun with the girls while sewing a new purse!
This is not a “class” – it is simply a social sewing time!   One of our Teachers will be available as a coach, in case you need help with any of the techniques involved.
The event fee is only $5 per month. BYOB (water, wine, other…). Come in to Wild Child Arts and Quilt Shop or call 770-855-3340 to reserve your spot!
