MEET OUR STAFF:
Sheila Hibbert
I have loved art since I was very young. As a child, I can remember spending hours coloring, drawing, and working on paint-by-number kits. In the mid-1990s I began experimenting with oils and have been working with them almost exclusively since then. In order to “loosen up” my style a bit I began painting with palette knives. They allow me to add texture to my paintings without sacrificing detail. I have a love for nature, flowers, and birds, and they are generally the subject of my paintings. My work has been displayed and sold in shows and retail establishments in Lawrenceville
and Monroe, GA.
Jennifer Brewer
Jennifer is an Animation and Illustration student at the University of Georgia. She has been drawing ever since she was in elementary school, and continues to explore new styles and media in her art. Although she specializes in tight, realistic graphite renderings, her favorite subject to draw are people in a loose, stylized manner. Her art techniques consist of graphite, colored pencil, watercolor, oil, pen, and digital media. She recently volunteered at the Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville, GA where she helped to teach art camps for children from the ages of three to fourteen.
Jim Bell
I started studying art as a painting and drawing major at GSU. In my second year I fell in love with ceramics. Starting with wheel thrown forms, I moved along with school. In my Senior year I broke my hand and had to switch to hand building. It was there that I brought my love of figure and form together and became a sculptor. I’ve been a grad. ascendant in Cortonia Italy, taught college courses at Perimeter college for four years, and taught at various art centers and workshops all around the metro.

I do not handle watercolor in the traditional way, as most watercolorists do. Starting out painting with oils, then acrylics, and in 1979, watercolor, I made the transition the only way I knew, so I tend to paint with watercolors the way most artist paint with oils. My paintings are neither photo realism nor impressionistic. They are somewhere in the middle. I tend to spend more time and energy on the main subject than the rest of the painting
Monica Heidesch (RYT-500, CYT),
takes great joy in sharing the brilliant balance of health, energy, and life that yoga can give to people who seek it. She began practicing yoga in 1977 at the age of 6 when her mom would take her along to a weekly classical hatha yoga class. Her mom began teaching Yoga in 1981, and still teaches today in South Florida. Monica spent more than 15 years employed in the corporate world, and would moonlight as a yoga teacher when her schedule allowed. In 2008 she founded “Yoga for Regular People” and chose that name to help individuals find their way to yoga who may not have been ready to try it until now. Monica has a passion for introducing yoga to clients who are new to it, teaching them ways to utilize yoga to balance a part of their body or life that currently needs it. She also thoroughly enjoys working with those who already have consistent yoga practices to aid in deepening their practice, whether through asana (physical poses), pranayama (breathing exercises), or meditation. Monica is a Registered Yoga Alliance Instructor at the 500 Hour level, and is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists. She welcomes all, and would love to see you on the mat!
Gina Marie Griego –
I have been quilting about 20 years. I love all quilts, but am partial to hand quilted traditional quilts. I am also an avid student of Wild Child Arts. You will often see me taking their art classes for enjoyment and relaxation. I have tried painting, pottery, stained glass, fused glass and yarn/fabric dyeing. I worked in the computer field for 25 years and changed careers to clinical massage therapy after semi-retirement. I am married and enjoy quilting, knitting, crocheting, gardening, Wild Child classes, camping and my wonderful pets.
Dale Harrison’s mother tied her to a sewing machine at age 8 when she insisted on clothes for her Barbie doll. That led to her love of anything dealing with fiber arts that continues to this day. In addition to knitting, garment construction and home dec work, most of her free time is spent quilting.
When not cutting large pieces of cloth into small pieces only to sew them back together into large pieces, Dale is designing and working on her computerized long-arm quilting machine turning pieced work of others into prized quilts.
Dale lives in the Monroe area with Greg, their dogs, chickens and horses and when not sewing, teaches Physics and Astronomy at George Walton Academy.
